You could say that I'm a 'web designer', a 'visual designer', a 'graphic designer', a 'user experience designer', or a 'front-end designer', and these would all be correct. These titles confuse the heck out of you, don't they?
You could also say that I'm a 'brand strategist', or an 'online marketing specialist' with a background in print and logo design. Yup, those are correct as well.
So when my wife asks me what I do for a living, my general response is that I drink Starbucks espresso all day, sit in a cubicle, listen to Coldplay and 'design stuff'. My in-laws just think I'm a computer genius and have me on speed dial for when their computer breaks. I love them dearly.
If you're looking for an official title, I'm currently Visual Design Manager at Fusionapps, a company located just outside of New York where we build custom web and mobile applications for startups and enterprises.
